Sporting Background

As a child I was always interested in sport and spent my early years as a gymnast and competed as a junior international in Moscow.  During sixth form and university I took to athletics and competed in the 400m hurdles and cross country.  In 2000 I was introduced to triathlon by a good friend, little did I know what this was going to lead to.  In 2001 I decided to never look back and say “what if” so I left full time employment to concentrate on triathlon and my quest to be the best in the World.  In 2003 I finished 8th in the European Championships and became part of the UK Sport Lottery Funded World Class Performance Programme.  In 2005 I decided to concentrate solely on cycling which was my strongest triathlon component and in January 2007 I signed a professional contract with the Raleigh Lifeforce Creation team.  I am now looking forward to racing at the highest level and to compete in major championships for Great Britain.
